Successfully operating a flatbed requires extra knowledge and experience from the tow truck technician.
All Roadside Towing provides several weeks of additional training to it’s flatbed drivers every year.
Our Technicians are the best, because our customers deserve the best.
Flatbed Lowers Deck
First, the flatbed lowers the bed (deck) to the vehicles tires. The tow technician hooks the winch cable to the vehicle being towed with steel hooks.
Winching the Vehicle
Next, the technician carefully winches the vehicle onto the tow truck deck (flatbed). The tow tech is careful to get vehicle as symmetrical as possible on the deck.
Raises the Deck
Now the technician has the vehicle in place, he will normally strap the one or both of the front tires to the deck. He lifts the deck back to its normal drive position.
Lock Down
Finally, the vehicle is secured to the tow trucks deck. It’s secured by at all 4 tires and the winch – 5 points of contact. It never makes contact with the road and doesn’t add mileage to the odometer.
